The Round Top antiques fair is quickly approaching: October 14th – 19th. In addition to being famous for its antique fairs, Round Top is famous for its Texas trash pie, a pie created by the Royer family of Royers Round Top Café. People rave about how delicious this uniquely Texan pie tastes. Sadly, people who cannot eat gluten cannot experience this rich, decadent dessert if they visit Round Top. I wanted to try this famous pie myself, but as a celiac sufferer I had to develop my own gluten-free recipe. The pie is filled with chocolate, coconut, and pecans and more, all of which is covered with a home-made, buttery caramel sauce. I’m offering gluten-free Texas trash pies be delivered the week of the Round Top antiques fair. For details about placing an order, pick-up at my home in Kovar on Wednesday, between 5 – 7 pm Oct 16, or delivery to a central location in Smithville at 6 – 6:15 pm Oct 17, DM me on Nextdoor or email me at tdmorris@fidei.email for more information. Pies are $22 for pick-up at my home; $25 delivery to the central location in Smithville.
